Attack of the Render Clones

Minecraft has been putting additional renders of Duke and has been denying him the ability to run smoothly without timeouts

yeah i kinda preformed osmosis somehow and can't log in properly because of it :T

I kinda wish this would happen to me, though I think I would begin scaring myself...I have a very active imagination, and I would believe they would begin moving on me, pulling weeping angels or SCPs on me >.>

It's a graphical glitch. Happens from time to time. I have no idea how to replicate it.

Although, I do have a screenshot of it happening to myself a couple versions ago. I might dig it up.

Yeah something I have noticed with the clones that each one logs on and logs off with each error. So duke logged on clone logged on, another clone logged on, duke had issues running and got kicked by script, he logs on, clone logs on. After all that each clone would eventually log off and a check to the chunk updates show that it was up in the 200+ with lows of 100 and after the clones start disappearing the updates started to go down towards normal teens high with hiccups up to 100.

I would guess the script got overwhelmed and decided to initiate another log in, but since there is only one computer that could control a player it would leave the render there until it decides that the clone has been on too long and kicks it off.

I should point out that this happens on the Oasis FTB server as well. Sometimes after I log off, my character still shows up on the dynamap and people in-game say that I'm still there. This hasn't happened in at least 2 weeks, so I'm wondering if it's happening only when server health is low.

Also we found a new symptom of this glitch



when your clone 'logs off' your name is automatically removed from the player tab list.

Here are this events circumstances...
I was moving from the leaf bridge in farmcult to the farmcult mine. when I reached the piston doors my feet did not activate the pressure plates. In response I quickly logged off and logged back on. Fellow players said that I did not log off and only logged on again. I appeared on the bridge while my clone was at the door pressing the pressure plates.

This supports the overwhelmed server theory since it forgot to log me off in a time of lag and simply logged me on when I came back. There is no counter measure to the dual logging on so it merely followed code to log me off due to inactivity or the initial log off and took my name of the tab list.

Also unless there where any other cases that yet to surface all events happened in farmcult (Duke next to the building in Bandit's pic, Bandit not too far from Duke, and me near the farmcult mine.

This is why 1.8 is so laggy. This is more than just a graphical glitch, the player instance is not being deleted properly when a play logs or dc's. And its hogging up memory or scrambling it up a bit. You should not try to replicate this at any cost, it bogs down the system like you dont believe and we already have lag issues atm.

Would also like to mention. Have you guys tried fully restarting 1.8? I cant login after leaving 1.8 at all with out restarting my client. If I am kicked or dc'd, i have to restart my client. Always gives me errors.
